Business Analyst - Azure Cloud

We are seeking a Business Analyst for our Azure Platform team motivated to take on challenges in a growing and dynamic environment as we invest in a cloud adoption program.

The Azure Cloud Business Analyst will work with Product Owners, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to identify platform needs and determine functional requirements while working within a cross-functional team focused on delivering capabilities for business outcomes.

Candidate should have an understanding and experience working within an Azure Cloud environment. Experience in Agile methodologies is a core requirement, and the candidate must be detail oriented with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management across IT departments.

This position will be with National Indemnity Company in Omaha, NE with a hybrid 50% in the office work environment. This position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship. #LI-Hybrid / #LI-Onsite

What will you do?

  • Creates, updates, and maintains user stories for development work within the product.
  • Communicates technical and business specifications, operational impact, and continuous improvement of our products.
  • Creates and maintains business and product artifacts, including requirements, business case documentation, scope documentation, process flows, and business rules and procedures
  • Collaborates with Product Owners and QA to identify and write test cases from the user story acceptance criteria to ensure requirements are met. Assists in creation of and may execute test plans for usage in the testing process and regression testing mechanism.
  • Participates in Pre-Planning Meetings, Sprint Planning, Release Planning, User Story Writing Sessions and Demo Meetings

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience (Minimum 3+ Years for Senior Level)
  • 2+ years professional experience as a Business Analyst, Business Team Manager, Project Manager, or Scrum Master
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Knowledge of software development practices and procedures
  • Experience working in application lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or Rally

  • Cloud native services (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience implementing and maintaining governance processes
  • Experience with business analysis or project management
  • Familiarity with continuous delivery and continuous integration
  • Insurance industry and product knowledge
