THE ROLE: Architect, DevOps

Job Summary:

Presidio has an opening for an Architect role in our DevOps practice. Our Architects are focused on building teams and systems which enable organizations to create modern development platforms and cloud-native applications. A successful candidate will join our team, working directly with clients, enabling software engineering and DevOps teams by building the platforms they need and training them on how to use them. You must possess a strong working knowledge of the AWS or Azure platform, DevOps tooling, Kubernetes, cloud-native development patterns and conventions, and be able to coach organizations through the end-to-end lifecycle of microservices.

Travel Requirements:

In this role you will be expected to travel up to 25%.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Technical liaison between the customers, business, and support teams
  • Lead the design and deployment of scalable architecture for customer workloads with a strong emphasis on continuous delivery practices, security controls, and governance process
  • Be a Cloud Evangelist educating a variety of teams on the value of the AWS, Azure, and/or GCP platform and related Services
  • Participate and lead architectural discussions built on Well-Architected best practices, building client confidence and ensuring customer success when building new or migrating existing applications, software, and services to the cloud platform
  • Conduct workshops and knowledge enablement sessions to transfer product knowledge to customers interested in Cloud
  • Capture and share industry best practices with clients and communities
  • Author and contribute to customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, tutorials, and blogs
  • Attend and present information at Industry events

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the software development process, CI/CD, change and release management.
  • Experience in building and deploying Cloud Infrastructure and Services following strategies and best practices from the Well Architected Framework
  • Experience in containers and Kubernetes based platforms such as EKS, ECS, AKS, GK, or OpenShift
  • Proven technical leadership with experience in dealing directly with clients and coordinating teams of engineers (on and offshore) is advantageous
  • Proven knowledge in software architectures for performance, scalability, and high availability (DR)
  • Proven experience of networking concepts and services for security, reliability, and scalability
  • Familiarity in topics including; DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Automation, Chaos Engineering, GitOps, Agile/Scrum, Cloud Native Development, 12 Factor Development, Fail Fast, Release Testing, Kubernetes, SSO, Networking/VPN
  • Experience presenting solutions to clients and software teams from Sales cycle through implementation

Additional Desired Skills:

One or more from:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in roles using DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, build and release operations, system administration
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT or another related field
  • Over all 7 plus years of experience in Cloud environments or Enterprise Datacenters.
