Job Description
The Progenitor Cell Technician performs all tasks and duties associated with the processing and cryopreservations of peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) and bone marrow (BM) used to provide hematopoietic support to patient undergoing high dose chemotherapy. This role performs all duties in compliance with Stem Cell Processing Laboratory (SCPL) policies and procedures. This position manages daily operations of the laboratory. Coordinates personnel and patient schedules, addresses quality control deviations and ensures maintenance of procedure manuals and annual documentation of competence. This job implements and maintains quality control and quality assurance procedures as part of the continuous Quality Improvement Plan. This job also ensures compliance with FAHCT accreditation requirements.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of 3 year of clinical laboratory experience utilizing laboratory principles, procedures and technical skills

Education/training REQUIRED:
Bachelors of Science Degree in a Life Science from an accredited program
Education/training PREFERRED: Masters of Science Degree in Life Science from an accredited program
Independent action(s) required: Able to work independently.

Performs all tasks and duties associated with receipt, storage, packaging, transport and preparation of investigational products (IP) for research and clinical trials.
