Summary/Primary Purpose: To drive truck/van for collection of donations for Pantry, Thrift Store, or other Corps programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Make routine contacts for purpose of scheduling/organizing daily pick- ups of food and other donations.
- Drive truck/van to pick up donations as scheduled.
- Responsible for entering the customer/donor's residence for the donated item(s).
- Distribute donations to proper departments as required.
- Oversee loading/unloading of truck ensuring the safety of personnel and volunteers.
- Interact with donors in a positive and friendly manner.
- Responsible for truck/van maintenance and safety.
- Sort, box, organize drop box donations for storage in garage.
- Assist with warehouse processing when routes/pickups are slow or done for the day.
- Driving is an essential function of the position.
- All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: none.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and related experience in driving 14-foot box truck, including truck into close spaces, such as docks and alleys.
