Job Summary:
As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will be a part of the R&D engineering team, directly contributing to the design and implementation of the instrumentation for the electronic hardware utilized in our medical devices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design ownership and oversee engineering life cycle of hardware including architecture, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
- Development of systems and printed circuit boards.
- PCB layout and schematic entry.
- Perform and oversee hardware verification testing.
- Perform electrical design calculations.
- Project scheduling/estimation.
- Defining project performance requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- 7+ years industry experience with product level development.
- Ability to present formal design reviews with cross functional teams.
- Ability to excel in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
- Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Master's Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
- Master's Degree is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work onsite Monday - Friday in Irvine, CA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the design and development of medical devices, preferably in physiological monitoring.
- Familiarity with regulated medical product development.
- Familiarity with designing with Li-Ion rechargeable batteries.
- Experience with the following:
- Schematic capture.
- Printed Circuit Board layout including high density and high speed routing.
- Developing with ARM processors (i.e. Cortex-M, Cortex-A).
- Audio CODEC's, LCD's, and capacitive touchscreens.
- Volatile and non-volatile external memory (i.e. DDR3, eMMC, NOR/NAND Flash).
- Wired connectivity (i.e. Ethernet, USB) and Wireless connectivity (i.e. Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi).
- Troubleshooting embedded systems.
- DC-DC power supply design.
- Using C or other programming languages for low level hardware bring up.
- EMC mitigation techniques and troubleshooting.
- Design simulation and modeling tools.
Compensation: The anticipated range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
