We are committed to excellence, sustainability, and growth, seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst to support our efforts in optimizing sourcing strategies and maximizing value within commodity ingredients and energy procurement.

The Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst will be responsible for developing and conducting sourcing projects including but not limited to RFQ data management, data analysis, spend reporting, market analysis, bid analysis and overall supporting the category management team in day-to-day tasks for the categories of sweeteners, dairy, starches, soy, oils, natural gas, electricity and more.

Core Responsibilities
  • Assist in strategy development and execute sourcing strategies for commodity ingredients and energy procurement, considering market dynamics, cost drivers, risk management, and internal requirements.

  • Analyze procurement data, market trends, and supplier performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations for optimizing sourcing strategies.

  • Lead RFQ activities, such as, collecting requirements, bid publication, collection, analysis, and awards.

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers/vendors that align with quality standards, cost efficiency, and organizational goals.

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis, forecasting, competitive benchmarking, and industry analysis to identify emerging opportunities or risks.

  • Work on projects to identify cost reduction opportunities, analyze cost structures, and contribute to cost savings and avoidance targets.

  • Collaborate with R&D, Purchasing, Business Management, and Quality teams to align projects and strategies with organizational objectives.

  • Manage contract lifecycles, ensuring agreements are accurately documented, reviewed, and renewed as needed.

  • Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations for management.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all sourcing activities.

  • Travel to supplier facilities as well as Smithfield production facilities to gain education on production processes.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years' relevant analytical experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

  • Experience in commodity markets (e.g., corn, sugar, dairy, oils, energy), strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.

  • Deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, market volatility, and risk management strategies within commodity markets.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Established proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with e-sourcing tools such as Scout, Zycus, Coupa, and Ariba, preferred.

  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills, analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to travel up to 10-20% of the time.

Salary Range

$66,000.00 - $98,625.00
